Besisahar: Ten individuals were apprehended by the Lamjung Police on Friday night for engaging in illegal gambling. The arrests were made at a house in Sahar Kaulepani-2, Besisahar Municipality-2.
A police team led by Inspector Tul Bahadur Shrestha conducted the raid around 1:30 AM. During the operation, authorities seized 11 coins and a sum of Rs 272,335, believed to be the gambling proceeds.
District Police Chief DSP Nishant Srivastav confirmed the arrests. The detained individuals were brought to the District Police Office around 4 AM on Saturday.
The police intend to file a case against the arrested individuals under the relevant gambling laws. Due to the ongoing Tihar holiday, the legal proceedings will be initiated after obtaining an extension from the District Administration Office.
