Tanahu, Nepal – Rescue efforts are ongoing in Tanahu district following a tragic bus accident on Friday. Fifteen unconscious passengers have been pulled from the Indian-registered bus that plunged into the Marsyangdi River near Aanbu Khaireni. However, 11 passengers remain missing.
The bus, bearing the registration number UP 53 FT 7623, fell from a cliff in Aanbu Khaireni around 11:30 AM. Rescue teams, including security personnel and divers, have been working tirelessly to recover survivors and search for the missing.
While the exact number of passengers on board remains uncertain, the travel agency representative estimates that there were 39 people in the bus. Five injured passengers have been transported to a nearby hospital, while the remaining rescued individuals are being brought to safety.
The challenging terrain at the accident site, with the bus resting on the riverbank, has hampered rescue operations. Teams are carefully carrying survivors one by one to the road. A diving team has been mobilized to search for the missing passengers beneath the water.
