NSU Activists Arrested

At least 11 activists from the Nepal Student Union (NSU), the student wing of the Nepali Congress, were arrested on Friday for protesting in front of the Parliament building in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu. The protest targeted Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, demanding action against corruption in the cooperative sector and the whereabouts of GB Rai, a controversial figure linked to these issues.

Chanting slogans like “Act against the co-operative thugs” and “Where is GB Rai absconding?” the demonstrators were quickly confronted by police, resulting in arrests for disturbing public order.

The NSU has pledged to continue their protests until their demands are addressed.
