Itahari, Sunsari: – A total of 14 people were killed in 269 road accidents across Koshi province during the Dashain festival.
According to the Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, Itahari, most of the accidents occurred in the Morang district, followed by Sunsari and Jhapa.
The highest number of fatalities was recorded in Morang, where five people lost their lives in 95 accidents. Sunsari saw four deaths in 65 accidents, while Jhapa reported three fatalities in 72 accidents.
In addition to the fatalities, 16 people were injured in accidents across the province.
The police office also reported seizing 7,591 vehicles and collecting Rs. 51.95 lakh in revenue during the Dashain period.
