Arun III Hydropower Project Accident

Sankhuwasabha: Two Indian workers lost their lives in a tragic tipper accident on Wednesday night at the Arun III Hydropower Project site. The accident occurred in Phyaksinda Doban, Makalu Rural Municipality-5.

The deceased have been identified as Shailendra Pratap Singh (57) and Saruk Mohammad (29). Both were working on the project and were returning from the dam site when the tipper veered off the road and plunged 50 meters down a steep slope.

Two other Indian workers, Yogendra Pal (28) and Ishwar Paswan (40), were injured in the accident. Paswan, who sustained critical injuries, has been airlifted to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for advanced medical care. Pal is currently being treated at Khandbari Hospital for his injuries.

The accident is believed to have been caused by the poor road conditions, with the steep, dirt road riddled with potholes contributing to the tragic incident. Police are currently investigating the matter further.
