Kapilvastu, Nepal – A bus accident on the East-West Highway in Shivaraj Municipality-1, Bankasbasa, Kapilvastu, on Monday left 20 people injured. The incident occurred when bus number 2 Kha 1598, operated by Samyukta Transport and traveling from Surkhet to Butwal, overturned on the road.
According to Inspector Anish Bhandari of the District Traffic Police Office Kapilvastu, four of the injured are being treated at Chaurah Hospital in Butwal, five at Bhairawa Medical College, three at Sanjivani Community Hospital in Chandrauta, and one at Aadhaar Hospital Chandrauta.
The bus driver is currently in police custody. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
