At least three people are confirmed dead and another missing after flash floods ravaged Aathbiskot Municipality Ward No. 12 Yesterday Night (July 15th). The rising waters of the Tatopani River ripped through the area, washing away a house and leaving a trail of destruction.

Tragically, the deceased include three young children: 8-year-old Hitmaya Pun, 5-year-old Dhanisa Pun, and 4-year-old Manisha Sarki. Dilli Budhathoki, 40, is unaccounted for after being swept away by the nearby Jhinchour River.

According to local authorities, seven people were injured during the flooding. Rabi KC, the municipality chief, reported that the injured were transported to the city hospital for treatment. They include Bijay Sarki (10), Anisa Pun (22), Janak Khatri (29), Mansari Pun (65), Maxon Pun (4), Dhanmaya Pun (20), and Kalpana Kami (65).

The full extent of the damage caused by the flash floods is still being assessed. This incident highlights the dangers posed by Nepal’s monsoon season, which can bring sudden and devastating downpours.
