Travelers on the Prithviraj Highway between Abukhaireni and Muglin can expect a three-hour closure today, Sunday, June 9th, 2024.
The road closure, which will be in effect from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, is necessary to facilitate landslide control work near the Sankhar Dam in Abukhaireni Rural Municipality-4. This area was damaged by flooding in June 2022 and requires repairs to prevent future landslides.
Pashupati Gyawali, head of the Damauli Road Division Office, explains that crews need to remove loose rocks from the hillside to ensure safety. Due to the nature of the work, the road will be completely closed to traffic during this time.
The repairs are being carried out by GS Engineering Pvt. Ltd. of Bharatpur. The road division office advises travelers to plan accordingly and expect delays if their journeys are impacted by the closure.
