A bus carrying 35 passengers plunged 10 meters off the East-West Highway in Manahari Rural Municipality-7 Ramantaar Samidanda on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred around 4 AM when the bus, traveling from Kathmandu to Mahottari, veered off the road while negotiating a curve.
Of the injured passengers, 28 were transported to Chitwan Bharatpur for advanced medical treatment. Four others are receiving care at Hetauda Hospital, while three are being treated at Manahari Hospital.
Local authorities suspect that excessive speed may have contributed to the accident. Police are investigating the incident further.
