Sunsari: A six-year-old girl who was abducted from Duhabi on Tuesday has been rescued by police in Biratnagar. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
The suspects, identified as 50-year-old Sanjay Paswan, 50-year-old Kalanand Paswan, and 40-year-old Sarita Paswan, all residents of Biratnagar, were apprehended on Wednesday morning.
According to police, Sanjay Paswan is believed to have orchestrated the kidnapping to prevent the girl’s Aunt-mother from leaving for foreign employment. He had a romantic relationship with her Aunt-Mother and was not willing to let her go. When she left for Kathmandu, he abducted the girl as a means to get her to return.
The girl was lured away from her home around 3 PM on Tuesday by Sanjay Paswan, who was known to the child. After receiving a missing person report, Duhabi police initiated a search that led to the girl’s rescue from Biratnagar-10.
The arrested individuals will face charges of kidnapping and hostage-taking.
