90-Year-Old Woman Killed in Rhino Attack in Kawasoti

A 90-year-old woman, Jagarimaya Mahato of Kawasoti Municipality 10 Ratwal, has tragically died after being attacked by a rhinoceros. The incident occurred while she was grazing sheep in the Krishnasar Intermediate Community Forest. She succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Madhyabindu District Hospital Danda.

DSP Bed Bahadur Paudel of the District Police Office Nawalpur highlights an increase in incidents of wild animals entering settlements, damaging crops, and attacking people in the central area of the district. This issue coincides with the Chitwan National Park’s recent transfer of 7 rhinos to the eastern sector, driven by a high rhino population in the western sector of the park.
