A tragic road accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Surkhet district, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 26 others. The accident involved a Karnali Pradesh government vehicle (plate number 001 Kha 998) that was traveling from Dailekh to Surkhet.
The incident took place at around 2:20 PM near Ratanangla in Birendranagar Municipality-14. The vehicle plunged approximately 100 meters down a steep slope.
Immediately following the accident, a team of police and rescue personnel rushed to the scene. Thirty individuals were rescued from the wreckage and transported to Karnali Regional Hospital in Surkhet for medical treatment.
Chief District Officer Shankarhari Acharya confirmed the fatalities and injuries, while Administrative Officer Hit Prasad Paudel provided further details about the rescue operation.
