Surkhet, Nepal – Hari Bahadur Chhetri, the Accounts Officer for Birendranagar Municipality, passed away on Tuesday morning after suffering a heart attack during a public event. He was 52 years old.
Dr. KN Paudel of Karnali Province Hospital confirmed the cause of death, stating that Chhetri had a history of heart problems.
Chhetri was the announcer at the official program to inaugurate a new boat operation at Bulbule Udyan in Birendranagar. He reportedly fainted at the venue after the program concluded.
Emergency responders rushed him to the state hospital in Kalagaon, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. According to the hospital, Chhetri’s oxygen levels remained critically low, ultimately leading to his death.
Chhetri had been employed by Birendranagar Municipality since 2074 according to the Nepali calendar. Originally from Kushma in Parbat district, he had recently built a home in Birendranagar Municipality-7, Itram.
