In a significant development, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has successfully uncovered a clandestine counterfeit alcohol production facility operating in the heart of Kathmandu.

This covert operation targeted a residential house in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-5, where authorities discovered the illicit manufacturing of imitation brands of substandard alcohol. These imitation products were reportedly being distributed at discounted prices, posing a serious threat to public health and safety.

Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement carried out a targeted raid on the premises, leading to the apprehension of nine individuals associated with the illegal operation. The detained individuals include Manoj Khatri, Mahesh Khatri, Manish Khatri, and Binod Kumar Karki from Ramechhap, Mohan Khadka and Roshan Karki from Sindhupalchok, Gaurav Tamang and Lekh Bikram Thapa from Sindhuli, and Suman Nagarkoti from Kathmandu.

During the operation, authorities seized a variety of forged alcohol brands, including Khukri Rum, Golden Oak, Fighter, Signature, and 365 Black. The confiscated items, along with materials used in the manufacturing process, will serve as crucial evidence in legal proceedings.

The successful execution of this covert operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities that pose a threat to public welfare. Authorities are now focused on dismantling the illicit network and ensuring that those responsible face the full force of the law.

As investigations continue, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office remains vigilant in its efforts to safeguard the community from the dangers posed by counterfeit and substandard products.
