There is no better way to recover from a setback than with a victory. This is how Bayer Leverkusen applied it after the double draw against Bremen and Brest (Bundesliga and Champions) last week. They easily beat Elversberg from the 2. Bundesliga (3-0) to move forward in the Coppa Italia: they are already in the round of 16.

It was also a match with Spanish prominence: Aleix García scored 0-3 in the 36th minute to put the game away. The former Girona player and Spanish international scored a beautiful goal from a direct free kick. A powerful shot placed to the left corner of the goal defended by the visiting goalkeeper.

Before, Patrick Schick had put the game back on track with a double in nine minutes. First with a pass from Tella, then after an assist from Hofmann. Grimaldo entered the second half for the final minutes.

Vincent Kompany’s Bayern, the other great candidate for the cup title, plays tomorrow against Mainz.
