A tragic bus accident occurred near Aina Pahara in Tanahun district on August 23, resulting in the deaths of 14 people and serious injuries to 16 others.
The incident involved a tourist bus from India, which fell off the road and plunged into the Masryangdi River. The bus, carrying passengers from Gorakhpur, India, was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when the accident happened.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, rescuing all 43 people involved in the crash. The injured individuals were transported to Kathmandu Teaching Hospital for further medical attention, with 16 people being airlifted by Nepali Army helicopters, while the condition of the remaining 13 people is also worrying.
Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident and are working to identify the victims.
