Amir of Qatar Departs Bangladesh, Boards for Nepal

Dhaka, Bangladesh– His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, departed Dhaka today after concluding a state visit to the friendly People’s Republic of Bangladesh. He is now headed to Kathmandu for a state visit to Nepal.

According to a report by The Peninsula, The Amir was seen off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a Bangladeshi delegation including Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasrul Hamid Bipu, Minister of State for Electricity, Energy and Mineral Resources, and Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Qatar.

His Highness the Amir was accompanied by an official Qatari delegation during his visit to Bangladesh, further strengthening the close ties between the two nations.

While details of his discussions with Bangladeshi leadership were not immediately released, the visit represented an opportunity to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation across sectors of mutual interest to Qatar and Bangladesh.

The Amir’s next stop is Nepal, where he is expected to meet with the Nepalese leadership and review bilateral relations between the two countries during his official state visit.
