Mumbai, India – Anil Arora, the father of Bollywood actress Malaika Arora, tragically lost his life on Wednesday after jumping from the seventh floor of a building in Bandra. The incident has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.
According to local police, Anil Arora was found on the ground floor of Ayesha Manor building, and his body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. While the exact cause of death is yet to be determined, police have confirmed that he jumped from the balcony.
Malaika Arora’s mother, Joyce Polycarp, has stated to the police about the events leading up to the tragedy. She revealed that Anil Arora had a regular habit of sitting on the balcony and reading newspapers. Despite their divorce years ago, they had recently been living together.
Joyce told police that on Wednesday morning, she noticed her ex-husband’s slippers in the living room and went to the balcony to check on him. When she didn’t find him there, she went downstairs and discovered the watchman shouting for help. It was then that she saw Anil Arora lying on the ground.
While reports had suggested that Anil Arora had been unwell, his mother denied these claims, stating that he only had knee problems. She also mentioned that he had retired from the merchant navy.
The police are currently investigating the incident and have sealed off the area. No suicide note was found at the scene. A forensic team is also on the ground to gather evidence.
Malaika Arora, who was in Pune when she received the news of her father’s death, has returned to Mumbai. Her father’s body is currently at KB Bhabha Hospital in Bandra. Several members of the Arora family, including Malaika’s ex-husband Arbaaz Khan, and her parents Salim Khan, Salma Khan, and Alvira Khan, have arrived to offer their support.
