The fire that broke out Monday night at the Armed Police Force’s store in Satungal has been extinguished. The blaze was controlled at 2 AM, according to spokesperson Shailendra Thapa. A full assessment of the damage is underway.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. A large-scale effort involving over 1,000 security personnel and multiple fire engines was required to contain the fire. This is the second fire to impact an APF facility in recent times, following an incident at their headquarters. An investigation committee, headed by Additional Inspector General Banshiraj Dahal, has been formed.
