An arrest warrant has been issued for Kailash Sirohiya, chairman of Kantipur Publications. The District Court in Dhanusha issued the warrant, as confirmed by the Nepal Police Headquarters.

Sirohiya faces allegations of citizenship misuse, prompting the court’s action.

During a House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, Nepali Congress member Badri Pandey criticized the issuance of the warrant against Sirohiya.

Dhanusha police verified that the arrest warrant resulted from a complaint filed on April 28, 2024, accusing Sirohiya of being a non-Nepali citizen and misusing his citizenship.
