An arrest warrant has been issued for Ravi Oad, the acclaimed winner of Nepal Idol season 2, following allegations of marital rape and unnatural intercourse lodged by his wife.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chakraraj Joshi of the District Police Office Kanchanpur confirmed the issuance of the arrest warrant with the authorization of the district court. The complaint was formally filed by Oad’s wife on April 2, prompting the court’s immediate response in granting the arrest warrant.
Efforts to locate Oad have been intensified since the warrant’s issuance, with authorities actively corresponding and searching potential locations. “We have escalated our search efforts and are communicating with relevant parties to locate him,” stated DSP Joshi.
The complaint against Oad was lodged through the Jhalari, Kanchanpur area police office. Oad, who clinched the title of Nepal Idol’s second season on December 21, 2018, hails from Krishnapur Municipality in Gularia.
Despite the ongoing legal situation, Oad’s recent Instagram posts suggest he is presently in Japan for a musical event. Additionally, he embarked on his acting career just last month, starring in the film ‘Draupadi,’ a cinematic rendition of the Bahupratipatha tale.
