An avalanche in Dhukurpokhari, Ngisyang rural municipality, Manang district, has disrupted local travel routes, posing challenges for both upper and lower Mustang areas.
Although the avalanche did not block the road, Chief District Officer Subash Kumar Lamichhane reported hazardous trekking conditions in the upper region due to heavy snowfall on Sunday night. Concerns have been raised about the safety of tourists, with Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, the district chief of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, highlighting the risks. Efforts are underway to inform tourists about the current situation and raise awareness of avalanche-related hazards.
