A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Bajhang district this morning at approximately 9:32 am, the National Earthquake Measurement Center has confirmed. Senior Seismologist Dr. Lok Bijay Adhikari noted that the tremor was felt across several neighboring districts.
“This area has experienced more than 600 aftershocks following a larger earthquake approximately five months ago,” Dr. Adhikari stated.
Bajhang was the epicenter of a significant 6.3 magnitude earthquake last year.
