A woman from Bajura has been found murdered in a tragic incident. Dhauli Baduwal, a 45-year-old resident of Kordha, Badimalika Municipality-6, was discovered deceased by relatives on Monday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Bajura, Dhauli had been staying in a shed located in the Buda Kordha Area, approximately two hours from her village, to watch over cattle. The discovery was made by family members who visited the shed.
Police have apprehended three individuals for questioning in connection with the incident. District Police Office Chief DSP Dilip Kumar Giri reported that Dhauli’s body exhibited significant injuries to the head and face. Bloodstains were also found near the shed’s entrance.
Based on preliminary investigations, DSP Giri indicated that Dhauli was likely beaten to death. Interestingly, valuables such as jewelry and cash found on her person remained untouched, suggesting robbery was not the motive.
Dhauli’s body has been transported to the District Hospital Bajura for a post-mortem examination. Additionally, a vaginal swab is being prepared for further testing in Kathmandu.
The news comes with an added layer of sadness, as Dhauli’s husband passed away 24 years ago. She is survived by a daughter who has a physical disability and had come down to the village from the shed two days prior to the discovery.
