Police in Nepal’s Bara district have arrested two Indian nationals in connection with the possession of approximately 35 kilograms of charas, a banned narcotic substance. The arrest was made during a routine inspection.
The suspects, identified as Safir Ali (42) and Mohammad Abjal (44), both residents of the Bareth district in Uttar Pradesh, India, were apprehended while traveling from Hetauda to Birgunj. Police from the Amlekhgunj Area Police Office also seized a vehicle with an Indian registration plate believed to be used by the accused.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bara, Suresh Prasad Kafle, confirmed the arrests and stated that the Bara District Court has granted permission to keep the suspects in custody while further investigations are conducted.
