Bardiya, Nepal: A 39-year-old woman was tragically killed in a suspected domestic violence incident in Barbardiya Municipality. Mina Tharu, a resident of Tarkapur, was found dead in her home early Tuesday morning.
According to local police, the suspect, Shiva Prasad Tharu, a resident of Ward No. 11, Barbardiya Municipality, attacked Mina with a sharp weapon, striking her on the head and neck. She was rushed to Barbardiya Nagar Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Shiva Prasad Tharu managed to flee the scene after the attack but was later apprehended by police in the City Bareli area of Ward No. 5. The motive behind the murder remains under investigation.
Authorities are currently working to gather more details about the incident and determine the exact circumstances leading to the woman’s death.
