Bear Chases 70 Sheep Off Cliff in Jumla

A bear attack in Thumalchaur, Baragaon (Tatopani Rural Municipality-7, Jumla) led to the deaths of 70 sheep after they were chased off a cliff. Local farmers Mage Rawat and Siul Rawat, who are brothers, lost the majority of their flock.

According to Baragaon teacher Amar Rawat, the incident occurred last night. The Tamti Topla temporary police post confirmed the deaths of 70 out of 120 sheep, with 31 still missing.

The Rawat brothers, now with an empty barn, face significant financial hardship. Tatopani Rural Municipality Chairman Nanda Prasad Choulagain has pledged to coordinate necessary support and relief efforts for the affected farmers.
