The road connecting the Jhapa-Bhadrapur municipality to Salakpur in Ilam is receiving a significant upgrade with the laying of five kilometers of new asphalt. According to Kulanand Chaudhary, an engineer at the Jhapa District Infrastructure Development Office, the project is currently 40% complete.
The construction contract, worth 26 crores 69 lakhs 33 thousand eight hundred 28 rupees (including VAT), was awarded to Kankai Moti JV by the State Government Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development.
Engineer Chaudhary reports that the 10-kilometer stretch from Bhadrapur-Fadani bridge to Itta-Bhatta is progressing smoothly and is expected to be finished within two months. However, the northern portion of the road from Itta-Bhatta market faces delays due to local obstructions.
