A head-on collision between a petrol tanker and a magic van on Monday afternoon in Biratnagar claimed one life and left five others injured.
The accident occurred near the Dudh farm under Koshi Lokmarga in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4.
According to Morang Police spokesperson DSP Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet, 30-year-old Tilak Sah of Itahari sub-metropolitan city-17, Sunsari, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Biratnagar’s Golden Hospital around 4:45 pm on June 10th. He had been critically injured in the crash.
Five other individuals were also injured in the accident. They have been identified as 36-year-old Shankar Prasad Sharma of Biratnagar Metropolitan Municipality-6, 35-year-old Munna Kumar Das, 40-year-old Sabina Khatun of Duhabi Municipality-2, Sunsari, 24-year-old Amit Sardar of Rangeli Municipality-8, Morang and 22-year-old Sajin Magar of Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality-7, Khotang. Fortunately, all are reported to be in stable condition.
The tanker driver, 36-year-old Sanjay Thakur of Hanumannagar, Saptari, was arrested by police following the accident.
