Biratchowk, Nepal: The bodies of five Russian mountaineers who perished on Dhaulagiri Mountain remain inaccessible due to challenging weather conditions and terrain. Despite multiple attempts, rescue teams have been unable to retrieve the bodies from the high-altitude location.
The five mountaineers, Alexander Dusheyko, Oleg Kruglov, Vladimir Chistikov, Mikhail Nosenko, and Dmitrii Shpilevoi, were found dead at an altitude of 7,100 meters on October 9. They had been part of a 14-member Russian expedition organized by I AM Trekking and Expedition.
The bodies are located in a remote area that is inaccessible by helicopter and difficult to reach on foot. Several attempts to recover the bodies have been thwarted by unfavorable weather conditions, including fog and strong winds.
The associated trekking company is planning to send a rescue team in a helicopter to attempt a recovery on Monday, weather permitting. However, the success of this mission remains uncertain due to the challenging conditions.
