Chitwan, Nepal: The bodies of 27 Indian tourists who perished in a bus accident in Tanahun district on Friday were repatriated to India on Saturday.

An Indian army ship transported 25 of the deceased from Bharatpur Airport to Gorakhpur, while the bodies of the bus driver and co-driver were sent by ambulance due to their proximity to the Nepal-India border.

The injured survivors are receiving medical treatment at the University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. The bodies of the victims were initially taken to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan for a post-mortem examination.
