The body of 15-year-old Yunik Subedi from Ghatbesi, Gajuri rural municipality-5 of Dhading, was recovered from the Trishuli River on Sunday by an Armed Police Force diving team.
Yunik and his friend, 13-year-old Ridam Roila, had gone missing in the river around 4 pm on Saturday while swimming.
“The search for Ridam is still ongoing,” said DSP Shailendra Thapa, co-spokesperson for the Armed Police Force.
A seven-person team led by DSP Madan Kumar Rasaili was deployed from the Armed Police Force’s disaster management base at Adamghat after the teenagers were reported missing. On Sunday, a five-person Armed Forces Disaster Management Academy Kurintar diving team led by Inspector Dhankumar Adhikari joined the search efforts.
