A young boy is missing after going for a swim in the Bagmati River at Lakshmipur Ghat in Rautahat’s Gadhimai Municipality.
Reports indicate that three children went to bathe in the river. Two of them returned home to inform their families that their 10-year-old friend had drowned.
Upon receiving this devastating news, authorities swiftly deployed a search team. Superintendent Bikram Humagain of the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 11 heads the operation, with a team of 30 responders under the command of Inspector Bhuwan Ghimire.
Thankfully, another child who went underwater but managed to resurface is receiving treatment at a local medical facility. Their condition is reported to be stable.
The search efforts for the missing child are ongoing.
