Bus Overturns on Lucknow-Agra Expressway, 40 Passengers Injured

A double-decker bus carrying passengers from Jaunpur to Delhi overturned on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway on Sunday morning, injuring 40 people.

Initial reports suggest the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the bus to veer off the road and overturn into a ditch.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene in Saurikh police station area to assist the injured. A total of 30 passengers were transported to Saurikh Government Hospital, while the remaining 12 were taken to the Medical College Tirwa for further treatment.

Police officials from various stations, including the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Circle Officer (CO), arrived on site to manage the situation and assist with passenger rescue.

The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time. Authorities are still investigating the accident and will provide further updates as they become available.
