Buses Missing in Trishuli River

Two buses are unaccounted for following a landslide that struck the Narayangadh-Muglin road near Simaltal in the early hours of this morning. The landslide is believed to have swept the buses into the Trishuli River.

Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, confirmed the incident and reported that rescue efforts are underway at the scene. The missing buses have been identified as the Ganapati Deluxe, traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat, and the Angel Bus, traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu.

Initial estimates suggest around 65 people were onboard the two buses, including drivers. Officer Yadav specified 41 passengers were believed to be on the Ganapati Deluxe, while the Angel Bus carried an estimated 24 passengers.

Heavy rain and the ongoing landslide are hampering rescue efforts. Officials are working to clear the debris and locate the missing buses.

This is a developing story. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
