CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League Kicks Off in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nepal – The highly anticipated CAVA Women’s Nations League Volleyball tournament commenced today in the capital city. The competition features five teams from Central Asia, divided into Category A and B, vying for the coveted title.

The opening match of the tournament pits host nation Nepal against Sri Lanka at 3:30 PM at Rakhep’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwor. Before the action begins, Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary will officially inaugurate the event. Notably, this is the first encounter between Nepal and Sri Lanka since their five-set victory over the latter in the 2021 AVC Asian Central Zone held in Bangladesh.

The day’s schedule also includes a match between India and Iran at 6:30 PM. This tournament marks Iran’s debut appearance in Nepal.

The Nations League will be played in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. The tournament will conclude with the final match.

Participants in the tournament include Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Iran.
