The Chamla or Gorakhali Falls touted as the longest waterfall in the Bajhang district, has become a burgeoning attraction, drawing crowds of fascinated onlookers to witness its natural magnificence.

Just a few years ago, this waterfall remained a hidden gem, known only to a few locals. However, with the recent addition of road connectivity, Chamla Falls has rapidly risen to fame, transforming into a must-visit destination.

Bhuwan Joshi, a resident, remarked, “This waterfall in our area was once insignificant to us, perhaps because it was a common sight for the locals.” He noted that its significance has soared in recent days as hordes of people from neighboring districts are now pouring in for sightseeing, all made possible by the construction of a road leading to the waterfall.

Residents and tourists alike indulge in capturing the beauty of the Chamla Jharana, also known by various names such as Gorakhali Jharana, Korkatiya Chhaharo, and Ubakholako Chhaharo. Nevertheless, its most popular moniker remains Chamla Jharana. This waterfall also holds a connection with local folklore, adding an extra layer of cultural significance to its newfound popularity. Visitors frequently engage in taking selfies, photographs, and strolls around this scenic spot, captivated by the allure of Chamla Falls and the stories it holds.
