The PNC Championship – played in fourball mode – is the parent-child tournament in which golf fans can see how Charlie Woods is evolving year after year, as the event is televised and Tiger and his son have their fifth stake. After the first day, they started in the lead, after delivering an immaculate card of 59 strokes that included 13 birdies.

During the course of the second and final day – still in play – Charlie, currently 15 years old, recorded his first hole in one in this tournament. The young talent has holed out from 160 meters on the 16th hole – par 3 – at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Tiger’s son hit the tee shot with a 7 iron.

After seeing the ball go in, the winner of 15 majors went towards his son and hugged him. “It was a perfect 7-iron,” the younger Woods said moments after the feat, adding: “I didn’t think it was going to go in. “I don’t believe anyone until I go and see it in person.” On this occasion he had his father and the Langers at his side to attest that the ‘ace’ was in the bag.

“It’s your turn to invite,” Tiger said moments later, but the young golfer joked: “I’m broke.” Let us remember that Woods Sr. achieved a hole in one in his first professional tournament, which further increased the expectation around his figure at that time.
