The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured an emphatic 78-run victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash on Sunday. Tushar Deshpande’s impressive bowling performance led CSK’s charge.
Hyderabad’s Collapse
SRH faced a daunting target of 213 but crumbled under pressure, all out for 134 in 18.5 overs. Aiden Markram top-scored for SRH with 32, offering only brief resistance. Tushar Deshpande was the star for Chennai, taking four wickets. Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana picked up two apiece, while Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur each claimed a wicket.
Chennai’s Strong Innings
Batting first after losing the toss, CSK amassed a formidable 212/3. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad narrowly missed a century, scoring a brilliant 98. Daryl Mitchell (52) and Shivam Dubey (39) provided excellent support. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Natarajan, and Jaydev Unadkat managed a single wicket for Hyderabad.
Points Table Impact
This win pushes CSK to third in the IPL standings with 10 points. SRH, also on 10 points, slipped to fourth due to a weaker net run rate.
