Kathmandu: Nepal is grappling with a rising number of cholera cases, with the total count reaching 25 as of the latest report. The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) has confirmed two new cases in the past 24 hours.
The majority of cases have been reported from Godawari Municipality in Lalitpur and Tokha Municipality in Kathmandu, with a single case detected in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Municipality in Kailali.
Cholera, a highly contagious diarrheal disease caused by the Vibrio cholerae bacteria, is primarily transmitted through contaminated water. Health experts are urging the public to prioritize hygiene and consume only boiled water to prevent the spread of this waterborne illness.
