Rautahat: A violent clash erupted at the Muharram Tazia fair in Rajpur Municipality Ward No. 6, Rautahat, resulting in injuries to 19 security personnel.
The incident occurred during the burial of the Daha flag when a commotion broke out among the Muslim devotees. The situation escalated as the crowd, armed with sticks, swords, and spears, began pelting stones at the security forces.
To disperse the unruly mob, police resorted to firing tear gas. Seventeen Nepal Police and two Armed Police personnel sustained injuries in the ensuing chaos. Their condition is reported to be stable.
A joint police team has been deployed to maintain order at the fair and prevent further escalation.
