Washington, D.C. – The Washington Commanders have added a new dimension to their receiving corps with the signing of Martavis Bryant. The 6-foot-4 wideout, who last played in the NFL six years ago, offers the team much-needed size and experience.

Bryant, known for his impressive physical attributes and playmaking ability, has faced multiple suspensions throughout his career due to substance abuse violations. However, after a lengthy journey through the football minor leagues, he was reinstated in November 2023.

To make room for Bryant, the Commanders released kicker Ramiz Ahmed.

Coach Dan Quinn, who previously worked with Bryant in Dallas, expressed confidence in the receiver’s readiness and ability to contribute to the team. Bryant himself emphasized his determination and focus on proving himself.

The addition of Bryant creates competition for the final roster spots at the receiver position. With a core group of Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, Dyami Brown, and rookie Luke McCaffrey, as well as veterans Olamide Zaccheaus and Jamison Crowder, Bryant will have to fight for playing time.

Despite the challenges, Bryant is optimistic about his chances and eager to make an impact on the Commanders.
