Corruption Case File Charged

Biratchowk, Nepal – The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed cases against five individuals at the Special Court in Kathmandu. This action includes Dhananjaya Acharya, the former Chief of the Social Development Office in Dolpa.

The CIAA alleges that Acharya misused his authority during the construction of a covered hall and sports fields. This alleged abuse of power resulted in an excess bill payment totaling more than Rs 993,940. The Special Court in Kathmandu is now overseeing the legal proceedings against the accused.

Additional individuals under investigation include:

  • Moti Prasad Budha, Sub Engineer
  • Abhishek Shahi, Chairman of the Consumer Committee
  • Apara Gurung, Secretary
  • Bishwanath Shahi, Treasurer

The CIAA, an independent constitutional body, plays a crucial role in investigating and combating corruption within Nepal’s public offices.
