The CPN Maoist Center has directed Krishna Bahadur Mahara, its vice president, who was arrested in connection with the Gold scandal, to step down from his position citing moral reasons.
Following a meeting held on Tuesday, party officials deliberated on two possible courses of action: suspending Mahara or requesting his resignation.
A spokesperson revealed, “During the meeting, the party explored the possibility of either requesting Mahara’s resignation or suspending him from his position. Ultimately, the decision was made to ask for his resignation. Failure to comply will result in his suspension.”
