Nepali cricket star Sandeep Lamichhane was denied a visa by the American Embassy in Kathmandu, according to a social media post he made on Wednesday. This prevents him from participating in the upcoming T20 World Cup jointly hosted by the United States and the West Indies.
Lamichhane’s teammates have already arrived in America for the tournament. He was included in the Nepali squad after being acquitted of a rape case. Nepal Cricket Association President Chatur Bahadur Chand confirmed that Lamichhane submitted all necessary documents, including the acquittal verdict. The International Cricket Council (ICC) reportedly allows player substitutions.
