CHENNAI – The Chennai Super Kings delivered a commanding all-around performance to secure a seven-wicket victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling TATA IPL 2024 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
CSK’s bowlers set the tone early, restricting a potent KKR batting lineup to a total of 137. Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the show, taking key wickets and becoming the latest player to reach the 100-catch milestone in IPL history. Tushar Deshpande and Mustafizur Rahman also proved instrumental in limiting KKR’s scoring.
Despite a promising start from KKR’s Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, CSK’s bowlers consistently took wickets and kept the scoring in check.
In reply, Chennai’s Ruturaj Gaikwad anchored the chase with an unbeaten 67. He was supported by Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell, who made valuable contributions in helping CSK comfortably reach the target.
Jadeja was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance with both bat and ball. This victory marks CSK’s continued strong showing in the IPL 2024 season, while KKR suffers their inaugural loss of the tournament.
