The local administration in Rautahat’s Ishanath Municipality has issued a curfew order effective from 5 PM yesterday. This decision follows a violent clash between two communities on February 15th, stemming from a dispute over the disposal of a Saraswati idol after the Saraswati Puja festival.

A meeting intended to resolve the issue escalated into heated altercations, injuring several locals. Due to the volatile situation, the District Administration Office, Rautahat has imposed an indefinite curfew. Affected areas include Jokaha, Sano-Jokaha, Ramapurkhap, and the vicinity of the Armed Police Force Base Camp.

Chief District Officer Hiralal Regmi states that the curfew prohibits all movement, assemblies, rallies, and demonstrations within the designated areas.
