Cyclone Remal reached the coasts of Bangladesh and West Bengal on Sunday night, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the region. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the storm’s core made landfall around 11 pm local time.
BBC Hindi reports that coastal areas in both Bangladesh and West Bengal are experiencing heavy rain and stormy weather due to Remal’s influence. The cyclone’s impact is also being felt in Bihar.
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of heavy rainfall for the next two days in West Bengal, Odisha, and nearly all northeastern states.
