Cyclone Remal reached the coasts of Bangladesh and West Bengal on Sunday night, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the region. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the storm’s core made landfall around 11 pm local time.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of heavy rainfall for the next two days in West Bengal, Odisha, and nearly all northeastern states.
