Atlanta, Georgia – A collision between two Delta Air Lines flights occurred on the tarmac at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The incident involved Delta Flight 295, bound for Tokyo, and Endeavor Air Flight 5526, headed to Louisiana. Both planes are part of the Delta family, with Endeavor Air being a subsidiary.
The collision happened around 10:00 AM local time when the Delta 295 flight, preparing for takeoff, struck the tail of the Endeavor Air flight. The incident took place on an alternate taxiway, according to Delta officials.
A total of 221 passengers were on board the Tokyo-bound flight, while 56 were on the Louisiana-bound flight. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries among the passengers or crew members.
Photos and videos from the scene show passengers safely disembarking from the damaged Delta 295 flight. The Louisiana-bound flight is a smaller aircraft compared to the large Japan-bound flight.
Delta has confirmed that all passengers affected by the collision have been accommodated on new flights to their intended destinations. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
