Doramba, Nepal – The death toll from a devastating landslide in Doramba Shailung Rural Municipality-3 Leharka has risen to eight.

According to District Police Office Chief Pradeep Kumar Singh, the bodies of eight of the ten people reported missing in the landslide on August 25 have been recovered. The landslide swept away four houses in the early morning hours.

On Tuesday, the remains of a woman were identified after her husband, Kumar Pahari, recognized a distinctive crooked finger with nail polish. The woman, Binda Pahari, was among the missing.

The landslide occurred on Saturday night in Ward No. 3 Leharka, resulting in the disappearance of eleven people. While one person was rescued alive, six bodies were recovered on the same day. The discovery of additional remains on Tuesday brought the death toll to eight.
